New Recertificaton Requirement beginning January 1, 2020 – approved CE programs must be at least one hour.

The NBCSN Board is always looking to ensure its requirements and methods for recertification are rigorous and assure that its NCSNs are continuously learning and updating their knowledge.

To that end, all recertification applications submitted beginning January 1, 2020 are required to include courses with credit hours of no less than 1 CE. For example, a single course worth 0.25 or 0.5 CE will no longer be accepted. These small-credit courses are often found among online providers such as Medscape. Medscape itself continues to be an approved provider, but only for courses worth 1 CE or more.

The requirement of 75 CE credits remains the same, but EACH CE program must be worth a minimum of one CE hour.
